Venezuela would like to become part of BRICS

BUENOS AIRES, May 29 (PRIME) -- Venezuela would like to become a part of BRICS, the union of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro told reporters on Monday following a meeting with his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

“BRICS (consists) of five powerful countries. And now BRICS is becoming a large magnet for those who want another world, peace, and cooperation. How many petitions has BRICS received from other countries? I have counted more than 30,” he said.

“If they ask Venezuela whether it wants to join BRICS at some moment, Venezuela will say ‘yes’, we would like to be a part of BRICS and accompany construction of this new architecture and global policy.”
